The Londonderry Playground on Mammoth Road is a great place for families to enjoy!
Local resident and Mother of twin boys who have autism, Katie Keeley, proposed adding sensory equipment to an area of the LAFA playground (Funway Park) to Recreation Director, Art Psaledas. Art has a close and devoted connection to Londonderry families and the community. He is a retired Assistant Principal of LHS and helps coach the LHS football team, as well as continue to work on projects that are beneficial to Londonderry's residents. Art connected Katie with Jenelle Psaledas, who is a local occupational therapist, to help choose the best equipment for this addition.
The playground equipment would include a wheel chair accessible merry-go-round "spinner", two sets of drums, chimes and an adaptive swing. The playground equipment and installation comes to $25,000 which is being fundraised so the playground can be updated as soon as possible. Anyone interested in making a donation can write a personal check to "The Town of Londonderry", care of Justin Campo (Town Finance Director) and reference the playground addition.

We have met our goal for the playground equipment!! The equipment should be installed in time for our kids to enjoy for summer!! Thank you to all of our donors, families and community members who came together to support this project! Any further donations may be sent to the town address below (please reference the playground) and they will go into a savings fund for future playground needs! We need help to maintain these gains! We are hoping a volunteer subcommittee may be created to oversee the playground needs.
In order to help raise the last $5k - $6k of our goal we will be holding "Pint Night" on May 6, 2022 at Pipe Dream Brewery! Raffle prizes at the door! 6:00PM - 10:00PM

July 2021 ~ We have purchased our first piece of equipment! The new swing will be added to the playground sometime soon! Thank you for all your contributions!
